Tuesday looked like a nice day for biking. The snow had melted around the van and she started after a winter of snow sitting- amazing! The plan was to load up the bikes and do some dirt road riding. I had my new Giant Tough Road gravel grinder. Peter had his bright orange Giant E-mountain bike ready for its first ride of the season. Plans are easy — execution much harder.

As many bicyclists know, the first ride of the season can be stressful. It’s not so much the ride, it’s the getting ready. Where are my bike shorts, gloves, shoes, etc.? With new bikes, there’s the added worry — do I have a water bottle cage, will my pump fit on this frame, do I have spare tubes?
