Be adventurous. You don’t have to limit your riding to one surface at a time. While pedaling a pavement loop can be elegant and grinding gravel an adventure, who’s to say you can’t mix them up? Mix your modes and surfaces to expand riding possibilities.

All you need to plan and execute a combo ride is: 1) a good map, 2) versatile equipment, and 3) adaptable riding skills. A sense of adventure and humor also help.
