How often do you visit a bike or sports store to buy a bicycle? Maybe once every 5 years or less? For me, it might be a dozen years before I get the urge to get a new bicycle. However, I go into bike sports stores frequently to buy equipment, clothing and bike supplies, ask questions and get repairs done that I can’t do myself.
Local bike sports stores are chamber of commerce information centers for all things cycling. Go through their doors, and you’ll find the equipment, know-how, and information you need to enjoy your riding. Their staff will help you solve your cycling issues and tell you where the riding is good. They can tell you about upcoming rides and events. Ask them where to go for après riding refreshments and lodging — they’ll know.
