Tele-Talk: Do you believe the override of Gov. Chris Sununu's veto will hurt him politically?

On Thursday, both houses of the New Hampshire Legislature voted to override Gov. Chris Sununu's veto of SB 365, the so-called biomass bill designed to provide a subsidy to New Hampshire's six biomass plants, including Pinetree Power in Tamworth. State Sen. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) sponsored the bill, which he said ensures that these plants "have a chance to survive and continue providing good jobs in some of our most remote communities." Sununu has argued that the bill could cost bill payers $25 million annually over the legislation’s three-year lifespan. Senate Deputy Minority Leader Dan Feltes (D-Concord) stated, "In vetoing these bills, Gov. Sununu put the interests of the out-of-state fossil fuel lobby ahead of the best interests of Granite Staters." Sununu's opponent in the general election, Democrat Molly Kelly, issued a statement hitting back at Sununu for the veto, as well as campaign contributions he received from Eversource, the state’s largest electric utility.
