To the editor: There are those of us who take offense at Thursday's story concerning "Granny D." Why would this reporter find it so surprising thatshe isa strong woman, even at 94 years of age? There are manyvery competent and capable older people in ourcountry who are tremendous contributors to society. Age should not make one bit of difference in holding office. I have seen many younger people who could not handle the job! I applaud her for wanting to take on this position. I, as well as many others, were quite impressed with this "speak your mind woman" who has come forward to try to makea real difference in our political arena. Iam fortunateto have met her!
