To the editor:

The Sun’s March 30 issue was a wonderful showcase for the talents of Tom Eastman. His important front-page article, “Unforgiving,” on the dangers of climbing Mount Washington, needs to be read by everyone who contemplates climbing the mountain in any season, and republished every year. The danger faced by those involved in rescues must always be remembered, and be brought to the awareness of those who would underestimate the hazards in climbing or hiking in extreme conditions.
