To the editor:

Freedom is often referred to as a quintessential New England village. With its white picket fences and graceful 19th century buildings, it typifies what we think of when we think of a small New Hampshire town. What many of us don’t realize, however, is the extent to which Freedom owes much of its charm to the efforts of one person, Mr. Chilton Thomson.
