We agree with columnist Bill Marvel that the school budget is bloated, resulting this year in an unacceptable tax increase of $300 on a home valued at $200,000. 

That said, voting is a binary decision, and replacing Conway School Board Chairman Joe Lentini and longtime board member Mark Hounsell with two inexperienced newcomers with no clear messages would do more harm than good. The phrase “throwing the baby out with the bathwater” applies here.
