To the editor:

It’s been an interesting few weeks for the town’s budget committee. Harsh comments have come from many directions regarding our position on the school budget, the budget in general, and the way we communicate with the community. In fact, one prominent business person asked whether it was time to disband the committee. As the newly elected budget committee chairperson, I wanted to clarify what I believe has been, and will continue to be, the primary role of the budget committee and to respond to some of the comments made.
