The Maine Monitor published an article Thursday titled “Early voting turnout is high. Election fatigue is building.” The reporting is not exactly a stretch. That “Mainers are turning out in high numbers to cast their ballots early as a controversy-ridden campaign season nears the finish line in Maine,” is hardly breaking news.
I was away for a week earlier this month, and returned home to 37 candidate flyers in my mailbox — a complete misappropriation of Maine’s precious trees. But the problem far greater than my overflowing recycling bin is the intermittent hellscape sandwiched between every show, movie or newscast when one turns on the TV. At this point in the race I, for one, can be found outside in my yard on my knees begging for mercy.
