One of my favorite road rides is to the Basin near Evans Notch. When I saw a Basin ride posted on Mount Washington Valley Bicycling Club’s calendar on Oct. 22, I decided to go. It would be cool at the 10 a.m. start time, but promised to get warmer.
Planning ahead, I put on my layering outfit — three top layers, hi-vis wind jacket/vest combo, tights and warm socks. Helmet liner and insulated gloves completed my outfit. Hopefully, my pack was big enough for later shedded layers.
