So-called "Border Czar" Tom Homan announced that due to the "unprecedented" cooperation of local officials, he's pulling 700 ICE agents out of Minnesota. I imagine they'll be deployed first to the Super Bowl to round up Hispanic attendees, and then to Merrimack, where a new ICE detention facility seems to be materializing, apparently to the dismay of Gov. Kelly Ayotte.

In December, The Washington Post reported on rumblings that DHS was considering Merrimack as the site of such a facility, but until this week rumors had been unsubstantiated. Initially DHS dodged inquiries, but a letter confirming its plans was sent in early January to the New Hampshire Division of Historical Resources.
