To the editor:It seems to gall Susan Bruce to no end that the N.H. House of Representatives has done something that represents the views of "good folk" as she puts it, like myself. People who do not think it's a good idea for children under 18 to have an abortion without the knowledge or counsel of their parents. How does someone like her get a column? Her condescension is matched only by her venom. She makes no attempt to conceal her contempt for those of us who are pro-life. She chooses to call us anti-choice. That makes her anti-life. No matter the circumstances of a pregnancy, even rape tragic as that is killing your unborn child is not the decision that brings healing. In her article printed on April 4, Bruce infers with a broad sweeping assumptionthat people who are pro-life are in favor of the violence of war. To address her other assumption, I am against the death penalty. God has made it clear. Thou shalt not kill! What part of that don't these left winger's understand? Don't kill my baby people. Don't kill my adult people. Don't pull the plug on or starve to death my old and Ill people! Bruce had the unmitigated gall to actually say, and I quote, "Their touching concern for the unborn ends the minute the kid takes its first independent breath." People do care and Birthright, a woman's concern, and options for women pregnancy center in Dover are just a few places to contact. Pregnant women receive real, tangible help in such places. This support goes on well after the baby's blessed first independent breath. It is terribly sad that Bruce bandies about with terminology in an obvious attempt to deceive people about the horror of partial birth abortion. However it is termed, it is certainly the killing of a full-term infant as it is being born. Only an idiot or someone blinded by lies could think that a baby being murdered while being born could help a mother whose life is at risk. She's gone through labor, the baby's coming out. Killing it now serves no purpose, it serves evil. Contrary to what Bruce says, elective abortions are done at the last minute. They have been justified under the guise it is for the mother's health. There are people who are pro choice, anti life, who consider themselves pacifists. Are you kidding me? How can you be a pacifist and be o.k. with the systematic dismemberment of a beautiful helpless baby? You're supposed to have to get past a mother to harm her child. Something that should be a formidable task. Womanhood at her best defending her family, defending her faith. When we are face to face with our creator won't He ask us why we stood idly by instead of defending His innocent? All our excuses and justifications will have left us. In the presence of Truth only truth can stand. I know it seems like the pro death wall is too high and wide to make a dent in. David had a stone, but he had God on his side. We have the truth. You see what happens when a politician steps forward to defend the helpless unborn. They are immediately set upon by salivating hyenas. We mustn't leave them out on that limb alone. We must encourage them. It takes a lot of conviction to be pro life in the political arena. Hear the lions roaring anyone? Further, they cannot have an accurate feel for the pro-life population if we do not make the fact known. It seems to me that the only voice being heard is the anti-life voice. It is so loud and prevalent. It's our obligation to stand up and be counted. I challenge you to write letters. You never know what your little stone can do. What heart can be moved, what life can be saved.
