To the editor:Recent letters to the editor of the Sun regarding the contest between Gino Funicella and Frank Di Fruscio have been filled with statements that are not true. They are unfair to Mr. Di Fruscio. Everyone is entitled to express their opinions. However, getting correct facts is imperative. If a person was not here at the time some town decisions were made, they would be wise to check the records as to what happened. Our town office building is "low cost" and many of us regret that. But it was not due to Frank Di Fruscio. I will not mention who was responsible, because we all loved him and he is no longer with us. The Gray's Inn garage replacement was a two-to-one vote, and Frank voted against it.The capital improvements plan was done by all the towns. The plan was subject to review and was used to prioritize the towns needs. Finally, reference was made to how much income was lost during Mr. Di Fruscios service. One would have to consider interest rates at that time, as well as the subsequent property revaluation. And finally, how many selectmen are professional investment counselors? The three selectmen did their very best with the advice and counsel of the Department of Revenue Administration.
