To the editor:We have been vacationing in the Conway area on Conway Lake since 1967, more than 34 years! About five years ago, we were fortunate to purchase a cottage on Conway Lake from some nice local folks. During these years, we have gotten to know Fred Dudley not only as a water patrol officer, but also as a friend. We have always admired Fred's professional responsibilities as an officer in helping to enforce the water safety rules on Conway Lake and also assisting people of all ages without being asked. Fred is well-known in the area, and not afraid to speak out when violations are observed and tell it like it is. We can't vote since we are "summer people," but we encourage the local people to vote yes for Fred's candidacy as a selectman.Oh, yes, Fred gave an excellent "pep talk" to my senior hockey team, Team Connecticut, at last year's 50-plus hockey tournament.
