To the editor:

Without actually ever talking about socialism there is a lot of socialism talk lately in this paper. You are apt to be called a socialist, or a communist if they want to be more nasty, by far right wing people if you disagree with their notions. This is done to discredit whatever that person says. I suppose name calling is simpler than to debate the merits of differing ideas. The strange thing is that nobody really explains these negative tags. This is why I want to shed some light on such simple-minded name calling. I am convinced that those who do this are likely dim-witted and lacking in ordinary intelligence.
