Alexandra Trumann

To the editor:Hi, my name is Alexandra Trumann and I am in the eighth grade at Molly Ockett Middle School. Tom McLaughlan is my social studies teacher and I just wanted to tell you how he teaches his classes. He is very biased, autocratic, racist, Fascist, discriminating and only teaches his own opinions and religious beliefs during class. He is a Republican and I am a proud member of the Green Party. Obviously, we have our differences, but one of my best friends is in the class and is an Anarchist and my other friend is a Liberalist. They both agree with me that he only teaches what he finds is right or correct and is making a strong attempt at converting us to Christianity. I try speaking up for myself and my thoughts, but I just end up getting detentions. I found the column about McLaughlan's class was quite, if not exactly, true. He is the Hitler of the 21st century and I fully and completely agree and support your letter about how his classes are taught. It's not a social studies class, it's a Christian church with a gung-ho Republican minister. I thank you for your time, and I hope to see more truthful articles about McLaughlan in your future newspapers.
