To the editor:

I am writing to correct an article in The Conway Daily Sun’s Dec. 28 edition, titled “Zoning Debate ... Tamworth.” I was at the hearing for the proposed zoning ordinance last week and spoke publicly. I am quoted in the article saying that the planning board was comprised of people on trust funds, pensions and investments. I did not say that nor do I believe that most of the members are in that category. And I did apologize directly to planning board member Nicole M. because she does not fall in that category and I was sorry she thought that I believed she did. (An aside: Frankly it’s not a bad place to be  — I wouldn’t mind being a trust fund baby or living on a grand pension — but alas life dealt me a different role ...) But I did believe that the people in Tamworth who support zoning fall into that category: people who do not have to depend on or ever have depended on making a living in Tamworth and frequently these people are People From Away moving to Tamworth and like the idea of restructuring it to be a “Disneyworld” town without the mess and bother of commercialism.
