FRYEBURG — A 56-year-old Pennsylvania man escaped injury when his single-seat ultralight aircraft crashed in a wooded area off Porter Road in Fryeburg late Saturday afternoon.

The pilot of the Aerolite 103 had taken off from Leavitt Airport in Albany. N.H., but he experienced engine failure at about 6 p.m., forcing him to attempt an emergency landing at Eastern Slopes Regional Airport in Fryeburg.
