CONWAY — A young moose that was seen by residents and drivers along Stark Road in recent days was euthanized Thursday after wildlife officers determined the animal was unlikely to survive the rest of the winter.

New Hampshire Fish and Game authorized local police to put down the animal, a roughly 10-month-old bull calf, after officers found it bedded near the road Thursday morning and unable to stand when approached.
