BARTLETT — New Hampshire Troop E Sgt. Nathan Johnston, a 20-year veteran of the state police, had to be extracted from his vehicle after he crashed into a utility pole on Route 302 near the Skidaddlers Ski and Sports Club early Thursday. The road was shut down while the pole was removed.

According to a release from the state police: “The crash occurred at 3:20 a.m. while the trooper was traveling eastbound when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the cruiser went off the shoulder of the road and struck a utility pole, bringing down utility wires.”
