OSSIPEE — After the two selectmen overruled a recent decision he made as town building inspector, Ossipee selectmen's chair Jonathan Smith says the town could open itself to liability over a vote to walk back on Smith's ruling to make Friends of Constitution Park Ossipee to fix their deck and boardwalk.

The Deer Run boardwalk opened Oct. 18 with a ribbon-cutting that was attended by the selectmen. Afterward, Smith brought to the group's attention several ADA violations he spotted with the project, which was built by Hermit Woods Trail Design owner Sam Brakeley to U.S. Forest Service Accessibility Standards.
