GORHAM — Dozens of canvas tents could be seen scattered across the open field at the base of the Mt. Washington Auto Road last weekend as colonial era historical re-enactors converged there for the Muster in the Mountains.
The encampment, in its 46th year, has been an annual event since the 1970s. It started at the Auto Road, which donates use of the grounds, and has been held at other locations in the White Mountains, including Randolph and Jefferson over the years. It has been hosted by the Auto Road for the past 13 years, after being invited to return during the Auto Road's hundredth anniversary celebration.
