CONWAY — SAU 9 is taking steps to do a better job addressing bullying and racial diversity. The move comes on the heels of a letter sent to the Conway School Board from a multi-racial family that left the school district here and relocated across the state line to Fryeburg, Maine, which they believe is a better environment for their children. They say there is a “prevalent discriminatory culture” in the Conway School District.

SAU 9, which is made up by Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Eaton, Hart’s Location and Jackson, has formed an anti-bias response team, which met May 3 and again on May 14 and plans to hold two community meetings next month.
