Ossipee Snowmobile

In the 1910s, Virgil D. White, a Ford dealer in West Ossipee, created the first snowmobile by modifying Ford Model-Ts. This restored specimen has been housed at the New Hampshire  Snowmobile Museum in Allenstown. Now, the museum has to move and Ossipee selectmen hope it can come to Ossipee. OSSIPEE — The New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum needs to move from its location at Bear Brook State Park, and Ossipee selectmen hope to bring it to the town where snowmobiles were invented.

The idea was brought up Monday by Selectman Kyle Copeland.
