OSSIPEE — In the wake of a crash that claimed the life of Jacob McConkey, son of state Rep. Mark McConkey (R-Freedom), Ossipee selectmen want the state Depratment of Transportation to make changes to the area of Route 16 where the crash occurred.

On June 15 just after 7 p.m. Jacob McConkey, 31, “was in the process of making a lefthand turn into M&V Convenience Store when he was struck from behind by a pickup truck being operated by Zachery Peters, 28, of Parsonsfield, Maine,” according to Carroll County Sheriff’s Capt. Mike Santuccio.
