CONWAY — Due to potential damage to vehicles and pedestrian safety concerns, two maple trees at the North Conway Community Center and New England Ski Museum Eastern Slope Branch are to be cut. Mark Butterfield, executive director of the non-profit Gibson-Woodbury Foundation, which has a beneficiary contractual relationship with both the museum and community center, said this week he has held discussions concerning the removal of the trees with North Conway Fire Chief Pat Preece, Town Engineer Paul DegliAngeli and Greg Tsoules of East Branch Timberworks of Intervale.
“They were in agreement that the trees posed a threat to parked or passing vehicles on Route 16 and pedestrian safety and needed to come down,” said Butterfield.
