MADISON — A man is facing charges of driving while intoxicated subsequent offense, resisting arrest and assault on an officer for an incident on Sunday.
At about 6 p.m., police responded to a vehicle that had left the roadway and had become stuck in the snow on Platz Street in Eidelweiss.
Investigating officer Michael Mosher arrested Joshua D. Brunet, 35, of Madison for DWI, subsequent offense.
“During the arrest, Brunet fought with the officer, which resulted in a struggle and an assault on the officer,” said Police Chief Robert King. “Tow truck driver Ralph Chick of Hurteau Towing assisted the officer in completing the arrest.”
All charges are at the misdemeanor A level. “Each misdemeanor charge is punishable by up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $2,000,” said King. “The assault on a police officer carries a potential extended term of imprisonment.”
King said Mosher received some minor scrapes and bruises.
Brunet is scheduled to be arraigned Feb. 4 at the Conway District Court.
