Why am I running for re-election to the board of selectmen? After six terms, I still enjoy the challenges that the job requires. Every year, there is something new and different the board needs to address. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the town, and I would appreciate the town’s continued support.

What are the issues facing the board next year?

The first is finding a new town manager that will be a “good fit” for Fryeburg. The board has already started the process, but the new board will be the ones who make this important decision. After that there will be a period of time for the new town manager to learn about Fryeburg and all its quirks.

If the town votes for the article, we will be starting on a revaluation. No one likes to do a revaluation, but we are overdue. This will start right after town meeting as we have bid the job out and have hired a company to do the job (contingent on the town’s vote).

The Snow School project will also be a priority as there is a clear need for affordable senior housing.

The Route 302 road construction project will make the roads in the center of town a mess for the next three years. It will be a challenging three years for all.

With a new town manager and all these projects going on, the major job for the board is not new projects, but to do these well.
