FRYEBURG, Maine — A proposed warrant article to regulate the number of adult use cannabis stores will not limit the number of medical marijuana stores, as previously believed. Voters will be asked on Nov. 5 to decide a warrant article that the town planning board proposed to allow up to five adult-use cannabis stores in town. This will be Article 3 on the town ballot. The planning board was asked to create the proposed cannabis article by Dan Tepe, owner of CBW Labs, which is a full-service hemp-processing facility in Fryeburg. At present, only medical cannabis stores are allowed in town limits.
The intention of the article was to limit the number of adult use and medical stores to five, but town counsel determined that the language of the proposed ordinance does not pertain to the medical stores.
