CONWAY — Selectman Ryan Shepard will be sitting on a committee looking at recreational possibilities for a former rail line that runs between Ossipee and Conway.Â
In April, the N.H. Department of Transportation officially transferred ownership and management of the state-owned Conway Branch Railroad Corridor to the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, marking a significant step in the development of the state’s rail trail network. The line is about 20 miles long, starting in Ossipee off of Route 28 near Hannaford and the northern end terminating near the Albany and Conway town line.
