CONWAY — Voters who turned out en masse at the polls on Tuesday sent a message they’re ready for change.

In a turnout that might be a record, residents replaced an incumbent selectman and school board member, and rejected the town and school district’s operating budgets.

Really? Is putting a paved bike path "blacktopping it over?"

This hyperbole by the opponents is completely disingenuous. I'd bet many voters were swayed by such extreme statements.

North Conway is literally surrounded by national forest, millions of protected acres, and yet something that is in the center of town can't be paved to increase accessibility for all visitors and residents? Folks, we are talking about something that is a few feet across and will allow many more people to access this land, as well as reduce future maintenance expense.

It’s about time Whittaker Woods is respected as a natural treasure, rather than get blacktopped over that the radical intercity trails people want.
