BARTLETT — The Bartlett School Board is ready to transition from No. 2 heating fuel to propane for the Josiah Bartlett Elementary School, which some members believe will be a more cost-effective heating source. The switch is expected to cost more than $1 million.

The board voted 3-0-1 to accept a proposal from Siemens Engineering of Scarborough, Maine at its Nov. 13 meeting. Voting in the affirmative were Heather Forbes, Scott Grant and Andrew Light while chair Emily Calderwood abstained. Board member Nancy Kelemen was unable to attend the meeting.
