BARTLETT — The Bartlett School Board believes it is more important to have students in class than for staff to be taking part in honing their educational skills. The board wants the number of PLC (Professional Learning Communities) days trimmed dramatically from the calendar. There are 16 planned for the 2026-27 school year.
One board member, Heather Forbes, urged her colleagues to send a letter to the SAU 9 Board, which is made up of school board members from Albany, Bartlett, Chatham, Conway, Eaton, Hart’s Location and Jackson, to inform it of Bartlett’s desire to have fewer PLC days. While board members agreed with Forbes, they ultimately decided not to send a letter but will voice their concerns at next month’s SAU 9 Board meeting.
