FRYEBURG, Maine — Offered a $1,000 "Good Science" college scholarship from Poland Spring, recent Fryeburg Academy graduate Hannah Rousey turned it down, saying she believes the company's bottled water business is not sustainable.

Earlier this month, Poland Spring Bottling Co. announced awarding 24 scholarships to high school seniors planning to major in science, engineering or the environment. The award recipients — representing six schools across Maine — each was offered $1,000.
