CONWAY — Fresh off a trip to the Elite 8 in Division II last winter and with four starters returning to the Nest, there’s plenty of excitement about the 2018-19 version of the Kennett High girls’ basketball team. Throw in an undefeated preseason, which includes wins over Division I schools Merrimack and Pinkerton Academy along with Maine powerhouse Bonny Eagle, and you can see why folks are eager for the regular season to tip-off.

Fans will have to wait a few more days than planned, however, since opening night, originally scheduled for this Friday at Spaulding High School in Rochester, has been pushed back to Tuesday, Dec. 11. The Eagles will tip off the season at arch-rival Kingswood in Wolfeboro at 6:30 p.m. The following night, they’ll head to Spaulding, and close out the week at home on Friday, Dec. 14 when Coe-Brown Northwood Academy is scheduled to come to town for a 6:30 p.m. contest.
