On Nov. 14, for two weekends only, Village Players presents a reprisal of their first musical, "Oklahoma," the first of the great musicals created by the incomparable team of Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein. The show will be produced at The Village Players theater on Glendon Street in Wolfeboro on Nov. 14, 15, 21, and 22 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 16 and 23 at 2 p.m.Directed by Kathleen Hill, and produced by Carol Bense (who was also a cast member the first time around at Village Players nearly three decades ago), In addition to being a great story, "Oklahoma" entertains as well, so Rodgers and Hammerstein gave it great songs like Surrey With The Fringe On Top, People Will Say Were In Love, and Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'. They also made sure there was plenty of humor with Ado Annies cavorting in I Caint Say No, and the smarmy salesman, Ali Hakim, who laments his fate in Its A Scandal, Its A Outrage, as well as Will Parker, who learns a lot about life in Kansas City.Help Village Players celebrate 30 years of quality community theater and see this groundbreaking musical in at the historic Village Players Theatre. The venue is ADA accessible and non-smoking. Refreshments will be available at intermission in the beautiful, recently renovated community room. Tickets cost $15 for all performances. Tickets are available at Blacks Paper and Gifts on Main Street in Wolfeboro, and online at Ticketleap.com.
