The sun is higher and the days are longer and the good news for many in our valley is that the sap is running with these cold nights and above freezing days, making the long wait nearly over for our many local maple sugar operations. For the first time since October the walkways are almost clear and there is increasingly a happy buzz at the center as folks come and go.

The MWV Chamber’s 16th annual Chili Cookoff that takes place at the community center on Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This really fun and delicious community event gets better every year and now includes a 5k or 10k Rockhopper Race at 9 a.m., starting and ending in Schouler Park.
