Community Center Corner: Annual Cupcake Battle set for Feb. 17

February has arrived and with it winter continues to challenge, and/or delight, us all. The good news is that the North Conway Community Center’s efforts to go green and cut costs are paying off. Since the installation of the LEDs in November, our New Hampshire Electric Co-op electric bill has dropped by one third from the prior year’s usage. Now, we are moving forward with the springtime installation of 52 solar panels that will help us mitigate the rest. We are only $7,000 away from our $53,000 fundraising goal so if you can see your way to making a one time gift, thank you. We have a local 1:1 challenge match in place for the last of the campaign, so please join in.

Don’t forget about Valley Promotions’ ninth annual Cupcake Battle on Sunday, Feb. 17, at the center from 1 to 3:30 p.m. It is both a fun and delicious mid-winter activity.
