Kathleen M. James, of North Conway, N.H., died on Thursday, May 14, 2026, after a long illness. She was born March 22, 1933, in Bartlett, N.H., to Herbert W. Burke and Anna B. Burke, both deceased. She grew up in North Conway.

Mrs. James was educated in local schools, graduating from Kennett High School in 1951 and the Central Maine General School of X-Ray Technology in 1953. She worked as an X-ray technician at various hospitals. Later in her career, she worked for Dr. William G. Duprey, Dr. Dorothy Davies and Dr. Miles E. Waltz in their offices on Pine Street in North Conway. Before retiring in 1988, Kathleen worked as a medical transcriptionist in the Department of Radiology at Memorial Hospital for 12 years.
