Emando E. "Brandy" Brandolini, 80, of North Conway died April 23, 2002, at the Memorial Hospital in North Conway, following a brief illness. Born in Walpole, Mass., the son of Pasquale and Onestina (Alliva) Brandolini, he moved to North Conway in 1982. Brandy was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served in the D-Day invasion in Normandy in 1944.After being discharged from the service in 1945, he operated Brandy's Shoe Repair in Walpole, Mass., until 1970. He then relocated to Framingham, Mass., operating DeLuxe Shoe Repair until he semi-retired to North Conway and opened the North Conway Cobbler Shoe Repair on Kearsarge Street.He was an avid skier and a member/owner of the Whiskiers Ski Lodge in Conway. He was an honorary life member of North Conway American Legion Post 95, past commander, sergeant-of-arms for many years, and had been very active with the Color Guard and Honor Guard of the post for many years. He also participated in all veteran services on Memorial Day, the Fourth of July, and Christmas Day dinners.The family includes three brothers, Italo Brandolini of Yucipa, Calif., Emelio Brandolini of Northborough, Mass., and Henry Brandolini of Ashland, Mass; and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by three siblings, Amedio "Pete" Brandolini, Olga Morey, and Gina D'Amadio.Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the North Conway Cemetery with North Conway American Legion Post 95 conducting the service with their chaplain, Rev. Louis A. Soucey, officiating. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Furber and White Funeral Home in North Conway.
