MWV Dollars for Scholars Volunteer of the Year

2-28-13-Kristen-MillerCONWAY — Kristen K. Miller was named volunteer of the year by the Mount Washington Valley Chapter of Dollars for Scholars at their recent board meeting at Granite State College. Outgoing president Betsy Smith presented the award to Miller for her contributions, especially taking over the task of getting the scholarship application online. She has been an enthusiastic and energetic board member, stepping up to design posters, sell raffle tickets, and provide a vital link to Kennett High School.

Dollars for Scholars is a local organization raising money for local students, including high school, post-secondary and adult learners. Last year $102,600 was awarded to 42 area high school seniors and 24 post secondary students. Scholarship applications are in the guidance offices of Fryeburg Academy and Kennett High School and in area libraries.
