CONWAY — M&D Productions has partnered with some of the valleys top restaurants to bring you it's classic monthly dinner and a movie night. On Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. at Your Theatre's Culture Cafe in North Conway the featured restaurant is Rafferty's and the film is 1946's "The Big Sleep"

"The Big Sleep" is the best example of a classic Warner Bros. 1946 mystery. It stars Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. It is a very complex, logic-defying whodunit with a quintessential private detective (Marlowe), false leads, unforgettable dialogue and wisecracks, raw-edged characters, sexy women (including the two daughters of a dying millionaire, a bookseller, and others), tough action, gunplay, a series of electrifying scenes, and screen violence. Although a classic film noir, it has no flashbacks, no voice-over narration, and little evidence of expressionistic images.
