SACO, Maine – MaineHealth Care at Home has appointed Matthew Driscoll its new director of communications and public affairs.
Driscoll has more than 20 years’ experience in health care, dating to the start of his career as a phlebotomist with the American Red Cross. He has worked extensively in medical sales, including for Automatic Data Processing in South Portland, Sage Products of Cary, Ill., and with NorDx, a laboratory services organization that is also a part of MaineHealth.
Since 2012 Driscoll has been NorDx’s communications and marketing manager, and this past year project management duties were added to his responsibilities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in medical biology from the University of New England in Biddeford and master in business administration, health-care management from New England College in Henniker.
In this new role Driscoll will be responsible for internal and external communications, marketing and will oversee the agency’s team of care and community liaisons. He will report to Donna DeBlois, president of MaineHealth Care at Home.
Located in Saco, Maine, MaineHealth Care at Home offers a full range of skilled home health services to children and adults, including nursing care, nutritional counseling, emotional support, palliative care, rehabilitative therapies, and tele-health. It also offers a full range of community health and wellness programs throughout its service area, which includes York, Cumberland, Lincoln, Knox, Waldo, Sagadahoc and southern Oxford Counties. MaineHealth Care at Home also offers hospice services throughout Knox, Waldo and Lincoln counties with short-term hospice care and respite services at the Sussman House, a hospice facility located in Rockport, Maine.
