The subject of Valentine’s Day has a way of reminding us of what we wish for, and what we have, with the fervent hope that they are in alignment. A philosopher once said, “Happiness is the wish to have what you have.” Valentine’s Day is no exception.

Roses and chocolate hearts notwithstanding, it is nonetheless a colorful way to celebrate the midwinter whiteness by adding a daring splash of red. Much like the cardinal pair that has been with us all winter, there is something both lovely and striking about a burst of color among all this white at this time of year.
