The Friends of the Jackson Public Library will host their annual used book sale on Saturday and Sunday, May 28 and 29. It will be in the Jackson Town Hall, across from the post office, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. The public is invited to come and browse the great book selection, where they just might find a great read. Anyone who wishes to donate books may bring them to the library Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays in May. To help with either the sale itself or the setup, please call Betsy Kent at 383-9076. Help is needed and will be greatly appreciated. On Saturday during the book sale, there will also be a bake sale to raise funds for an organization called The Darien Book Aid Plan (http://dba.darien.org). All proceeds from the bake sale will go to sending the unsold books to them to distribute around the world.Recipients include Peace Corp volunteers, libraries, schools, prisons and hospitals, as well as Native American and Appalachian groups in the United States. To donate a baked item or to help with the bake sale, please call Gloria Hutchings at 383-8933.
