Mrs. Elizabeth Betty (Day) Guilmette, 50, of North Chelmsford, Mass., died Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2007, at the Lowell General Hospital after a courageous battle against cancer for 10 years.She was married to John J. Guilmette, with whom she celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on August 15.Born in Lowell, Mass., on July 21, 1956, the daughter of Ernest and Elizabeth (Connor) Day of Freedom, she was a graduate of Tyngsboro Memorial High School with the class of 1974.She worked at Market Basket of South Nashua for many years. She enjoyed babysitting for numerous people throughout the North Chelmsford area. She also enjoyed yard sales, birds and gardening.She was a communicant of St. John's the Evangelist Church of Chelmsford, Mass.Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by her son, John Chop Guilmette of North Chelmsford, Mass.; her daughter, Jessica Guilmette of North Chelmsford; two brothers and a sister in-law, Ernest Jr. and Mary Day of Freedom, and William Day of Nashua; her sister, Susan M. Day of Bartlett; her father in-law, John Guilmette Sr. of North Chelmsford; a sister-in-law, Katherine Guilmette of Hudson; a brother-in-law, Fred and his wife Sheila Guilmette of North Chelmsford, Mass.; a grandson, Wayne Shay of North Chelmsford, Mass.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was the sister of the late James M. Day of Dracut, who died in September 2000 and the daughter in-law of the late Loretta (Wasylak) Guilmette of North Chelmsford, who died in March 2006.Graveside services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Fairview Cemetery, North Chelmsford. There are no visiting hours. For those who wish, contributions in her memory may be made to the Lowell General Hospital Cancer Center.
