It is with great sadness that I report the passing of one of Eaton's finest, Elwyn Thurston. He died of a heart attack at his home on Friday. As of this writing, I don't know the details of a Memorial Service. Elwyn was a good friend to all of us here in Eaton, taking such good care of our roads and bridges, plowing snow all winter, and doing many other town jobs we didn't even know about. To say that his loss leaves a great hole in our community is an understatement. My sincerest condolences to Charlene, Stacy, Chad, and Theresa. He really is irreplaceable.
