David T. Stiles, 89, of Swampscott, Mass. died May 26 at Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott, after a brief illness. Born in Lynn on July 13, 1914, he was the son of Arthur Stiles. He lived in Swampscott, then North Conway, before moving back to Swampscott.He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was a technician fifth grade in the 569th Anti Aircraft Artillery AW Battalion and participated in Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns.He was a long distance truck driver for many years and was later affiliated with Swampscott Landscapers Association. In North Conway he was a member of Elks Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He is survived by sons, David and his wife Paula of Lynn, Mass. and Stephen and his wife Kathleen of Swampscott; daughter Patty of Charlotte, N.C.; step-daughter Mary Mahany and her husband Jack of North Conway; grandchildren, Matthew and David Stiles of Lynn, Stephen Jr. and Sarah Stiles of Swampscott, Bill Mahany of Wakefield and John Mahany of Fryeburg, Maine; great granddaughter Ashley Tribou Stiles of Lynn; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by brother Hall and sister Elizabeth Whitcomb.A graveside service is 10 a.m. Friday at Veterans Lot of Swampscott Cemetery on Essex Street in Swampscott. Visiting hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Solimine Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean St. in Lynn.
