Constance E. Jewell, 58 of Jewell Drive, Waterford, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002 at the Bridgton Hospital. Constance was born in Hartland, Maine, the daughter of Emerson and Pauline Adams Bowley Pelkie. She grew up in Lovell and graduated from Fryeburg Academy class of 1962. She worked several years for Paris Manufacturing and from 1988- to 2001 she worked in the food service department for Oxford Hills High School. She was a former member of the Lovell United Church of Christ and a member of the National Alliance for Mental Illness and was President of the Lake Region Chapter. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Howard L. Jewell of Waterford, two sons Timothy H. Jewell of Sweden, Kevin S. Jewell of Waterford, one brother Ronald A. Pelkie of North Fryeburg, three sisters Marie McAlister of Lovell, Patricia Harmon of Standish, Charlene O'Brien of Center Conway, and three grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at #4 Cemetery in Lovell with the Rev. Lloyd Waterhouse officiating. Donations may be made in memory of Constance to the National Alliance for Mental Illness, P.O. Box 5120, Augusta, ME 04332.Arrangements are with Wood Funeral Home of Fryeburg.
